How to use basil:
- Toss chopped basil in salads (especially salads with tomato).
- Layered whole leaves with tomato and/or mozzarella.
- Add whole leaves to a sandwich.
- In soups and sauces.
- Make pesto. Pesto is great not just on pasta, but on sandwiches, dolloped on soup, in scrambled eggs, as a dressing for your grain bowl.
Why basil is good for you: Basil contains vitamins A & K, and has antibacterial properties.
